Coping With Dwindling Finances

DAY 3 OF 7

It may not be God’s will to give you more than you need, but you can be certain that God knows your need and is interested in what concerns you today. How can you be sure of that? Especially when you feel like you are in the present circumstance due in part to your own lack of financial management. You may even tell yourself that you don’t deserve God’s help. You made your bed, now you have to lie in it. You pray in the midst of financial difficulties and it seems that your prayers bounce off the ceiling and back down to you. Does God really hear you?

PRAY: Show me how to pray for your will in my life, even during this challenging time.

If you courage is in short supply today, in light of what your facing, read these words written by the apostle John:

READ: 1 John 5:14–15

REFLECT: How do you experience God’s presence? Does it help to be out in nature? Find a quiet place to reflect? Go to church? Pray?

RESPOND: You can have courage in God’s presence. You can be sure that he hears you. How will you respond to God’s presence today?

About this Plan

Coping With Dwindling Finances

When it seems like your finances are out of control—when it feels like there’s no way to find a sense of peace—you can turn to the solace of Scripture. Even when it seems to us like God doesn’t see our burdens—we discover that he feels our heartaches. He intimately understands our anxieties and worries. And he wants us to bring those worries to him.
