Day 12 - Perfectly You
It’s been quite a journey as I continue to rise up to fulfill my full expression in Christ. I no longer desire to be perfect, but to be perfected in Jesus. As I allow God to help me be aware of my insecurities and fears, God brings truth to those places. When you are set free from all of those insecurities and fears, you are allowing yourself to finally be exactly who God created you to be, PERFECTLY YOU.
Satan knows that once you know the truth about who you are, he can no longer mess with you. He will keep trying, but once you know the truth, you become aware of his tactics and schemes and will have wisdom and “fight words” to combat him. When the devil tries to intimidate you or cause you to question your identity, say “fight words” like these in your head or out loud to him directly. “YOU ARE A LIAR, AND I WILL NOT ENTERTAIN THAT THOUGHT BECAUSE I AM A CHILD OF GOD WHO IS LOVED AND ACCEPTED, AND I MATTER TO HIM! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE, AND GET OUT! You have to say it like you mean it. Don’t talk sweet to the devil because he is not sweet to you.
We need to go back to the book of Genesis with Adam and Eve, who were both naked but very comfortable with who they were. They walked in the garden with such confidence and boldness; however once they sinned, they became aware of their nakedness and started to hide themselves and their insecurities. The serpent told them lies and brought fear to them. We must be naked before the Lord because this is where we will have that Godfidence and boldness to be exactly who God intended for us to be.
We haven’t yet arrived at everything that God has for us, but we should pursue it all the days of our lives. How do you become Perfectly You? First of all, cling to God’s word and live it out. Don’t just read and soak in the word, you have to act upon the word of God. Cling to God with deep and intense yearnings. When we don’t cling to God, we get lost and forget who we are, and that’s when the devil begins to whisper lies in our ears and we begin to believe those lies. The second thing is to stay focused and strong. God gives vision to His people, and it’s up to them to obey and execute that vision. When you’re on assignment from God, you need to stay focused and strong throughout the different seasons until God says you’re done. Lastly, you must RELAX. Each time God stretches you beyond your limits or does something that is out of your norm, try and learn to relax so you enjoy the journey. Allow God to change you from the inside out, and don’t hurry the process of change, but embrace each part of the process.
You are uniquely made with gifts and talents that the Father has given you to be used for His kingdom. You have a purpose and destiny to fulfill while you are here on earth so you cannot waste a minute. Every day is precious. Let’s continue to encourage one another to finish the race that God has for us. Let’s not quit or disqualify ourselves from this race. Let’s stay awake and allow God to put His finishing touches on us because when you understand who you are in Christ, you will become all that Christ wants you to be: PERFECTLY YOU.
