The Pound For Pound Principle

DAY 11 OF 14

Momentum

How are you growing in the areas God has given you to steward?

Momentum is like this: Say your car just died. You pull over to the side of the road, but you are just a hundred feet or less away from the gas station. You start to push your car to the gas station, but your car is a lot heavier than you originally thought. You decide to straighten out your wheel, get in the space between the open door and the door jamb, and with your left hand on the door and right hand alternating between the jamb and the wheel, you begin to push the car with all of the might you can muster. While at first every muscle in your body strains to move the car a couple of inches, eventually the more muscle and determination you apply to pushing your car propels it to move with ease. Your stride is in sync and in rhythm with the speed of your car, and you finally reach the gas station; the great amount of physical exertion you initially put in paying off. That’s what we call momentum.

Sometimes our growth rate is slow, and sometimes our growth rate explodes out of nowhere. The key to finding momentum and growth is to steward well what He’s already given you. Faithfulness and fruitfulness – that’s our story. If we are faithful to do what God has called us to do, He will help us find creative solutions to not only steward well our gifts and talents, but to steward well even the people He’s brought into our lives. Your explosion of growth and capacity is just a few faithful steps away.
