The Pound For Pound Principle

DAY 10 OF 14

Hardworking Hybrids

Are you being the best at who you were called to be?

In Matthew 25:21, the master in the parable of the talents reminds his servant, “You were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler of many things.” We must be determined to be faithful with whatever God has given us, remembering that steady plodding in the same direction brings great results. Faithfulness with tasks, serving and leadership will naturally produce growth in character. While there is no guarantee that exponential growth will happen, hard work, consistency, prevailing, and plodding - these are the keys to building a strong foundation of incremental growth in character and in leadership. Find a good rhythm that can sustain you for the long haul.

“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity…(Proverbs 21:5)” As you are striving to do your best, it is important to focus on building your character. The best way to do this is to become a hybrid - the combination of different elements. In essence, take the best of what you have seen and add it to who you already are. Take the lessons you learn at conferences, listening to podcasts, watching your favorite leaders/speakers on social media and TV and apply it to your own personal life. The best type of leaders know when to adapt and when to change.

Stay the course, and make certain you don’t just sit back and wait for the success. Whatever your occupation or whatever season you are in, don’t wait for the “when.” If it’s a good thing you hope to be, be it “now”. Prepare faithfully in the little things and stay the course because you never know when your incremental growth will turn in your favor in an exponential way!
