Day Twenty-Three: Obadiah 1-Malachi 4
As the Prophets ministry begins to come to a close, the content of their messages are bittersweet—bitter in that the nation is being judged and sweet because God will restore.
Malachi is a post exilic prophet that is placed just before Matthew because his voice shaped the Israeli renewal to YHWH worship. Malachi reminds Israel that worship isn’t just spiritual but also material. God wants justice, not just personal holiness. The Prophets messages still ring true to this day, reminding us that obedience must be tangible.
