30/30 Challenge Reading Planنموونە
There are many scriptures in the Bible we can study about God’s love. Some of them show us how great God is and the way He loves us. But the Bible also teaches that God wants to love us so we can love and help hurting people. That’s what Jesus is saying in John 13:34.
It’s really a very simple, yet profound, message: Love God and your neighbor as you love yourself. We may feel like we need someone to love us, but what we really need is to share Christ’s love with someone. The world is desperate for real love, so it isn’t hard to find someone you can reach out to help.
Love is not just a feeling, or a theory, or a nice word. It’s action—it’s the way you treat people, what you do for others. Loving the way God loves means you love when there’s nothing in it for you; it’s all about giving out and not expecting anything in return. We’re called to outreach, not in-reach. Real love is about dying to self and living to love others.
Before you can love others, you have to experience God’s love in your own life, because you can’t give away something you don’t have. As you study the Word, you’ll get a deeper revelation of His love in your heart. Then be willing to ask God to teach you to love the way He loves. When you do this, God will enable you to reach out and help someone else. And you’ll find you’re the happiest you’ve ever been when you’re expressing God’s love. It’s that simple!
Walk It Out
Make it your goal each day to pursue God’s love and give it away. Don’t worry: God will always fill you with more of His love than you can give, so you won’t run dry. Study scriptures about God’s love and how you can share it with others. Start with 1 Corinthians 13 and 14:1. Pray for God to show you each day how to reach out and give His love to someone in need. It’s the best thing we can do!
