Above The Clouds

DAY 4 OF 7

Hope from Above The Clouds

It's easy to talk about helping someone in their struggles—until you have to actually do it. So, how do we help someone as they overcome the giants in their life?

It all starts with prayer. To think WE can actually help someone all on our own is pretty comical. Jesus tells us of the two most important commandments: To love Him with all of our heart, mind, and soul and to love our neighbor as ourselves. I would highly advise you not to speak life from a judgmental position. It's so easy for us to look at someone else's struggle and misinterpret their situation. We can think "How are they still struggling with that!? A Christian shouldn't act like that!" We often forget that before we stood atop the mountain we once cried out in the valley. It’s one thing to fail but it's another thing when everyone else around you reminds you that you are a failure. Be a voice of positivity, hope, and courage!

Focus: It can be difficult to speak life to our neighbors when we are so high up above the clouds that they can't even hear us. Today practice some of the characteristics Jesus practice! Let's practice sympathy, compassion, like-mindedness, and learn how to tangibly and humbly love Jesus' people.

About this Plan

Above The Clouds

Above The Clouds is a devotional intended for those whose life is going well right now. While we celebrate our victories on the mountain top we can lose sight of our neighbors in the valley.  I pray this devotional encourages you to refocus your eyes, even when life is good, so that we may continue to love people the way Jesus does—even if that means coming down from above the clouds.
