God Is On Your Side By Nina Smitنموونە
God Will Guide You
In Isaiah 58, God promises His people who have returned from exile that He would bless them again if they took pity on those who had less than they themselves did. For those who obey this command, God promises that He will hear their prayers and help them, that He Himself will go before them and protect them, and that He will always guide them. This nation had so often disappointed their Covenant God in the past that His patience became exhausted and He allowed them to be carried off into captivity.
But now He wanted them to return to Him. God promised those who came back to Him that He would change their circumstances. He would once again bless His people and provide for their needs.
God’s offer of mercy to His people still holds good today for you. The future is a closed book to everyone, and none of us can undo our mistakes of the past. Consider the saying “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.”
There is nothing you can do about your many mistakes of yesterday and the day before that—the past is gone forever. You also have no idea what lies in wait for you tomorrow, but you do have today; God’s gift to you! Take this gift and pray to God to guide you now and always.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for today! Thank You that I have another chance to come back to You, to help others, and to use the time that I receive from You well. I pray that You would guide me every moment of today and the future. Amen.
