Planting Seeds Of Faith

DAY 5 OF 5

Praying With And For Your Kids

The first thoughts of new parents often start with loving and caring. They plan to do that by being there, making sandwiches and tucking them into bed. We love, encourage, nurture, lead, protect and so much more. We are busy doing and providing because we want the best for them. But in the midst of busy, full lives, we have to ask ourselves: Are we praying? David Thomas talks about prayer — not only for your children but with your children!

Listen to David

Children are a gift — an amazing blessing from God. Prayer is essential for our families, to keep us alert, aware and discerning of God’s voice. We cannot underestimate the importance of speaking blessing and truth over our children. But, as David said, we are to pray both for and with them. Take time to pray specific, powerful, promise-filled and hope-inspired prayers for your children. But also take time to pray with your children. As you come and go, as situations arise, in the very midst of life. These prayers will have a powerful impact on your children – both now and for the rest of their lives.
