A Moment With Godنموونە
IS HE INCLUDED?
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
Christ was included in that wedding. Do we include Christ in our celebrations? Our celebrations are secular - birthdays, get-togethers, weddings, meeting with friends – or spiritual - Bible studies, Church, Fellowships, Prayer meetings, Home groups. We somehow think that Christ needs to be included only in spiritual celebrations and not in the secular ones.
Here we see that Jesus was invited to a wedding.
They included Him, they invited Him. Not because they anticipated a problem, but because of their relationship with Him. It is important that we invite Christ in all our celebrations. When He is present, we will be careful with the detail, the content and our behaviour. We will never do things that will dishonour Him. For this family that invited Christ, it was not an afterthought but a priority. Let us make it a priority to invite Him in all our celebrations as He is part of our life and needs to be there.
Jesus was informed of the crisis. With Christ being part of the celebrations, they faced crisis. We think that just because we have received Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we will not face problems. Running out of wine could have caused anxiety and embarrassment. Jesus' mother noticed this and said to him that there was no more wine. She immediately intimated him. She turned to Him.
In the midst of a crisis, we do not prefer to get involved. If we know the answer to a problem, even if it is not our celebration, it is important for us to be a blessing, to lead people to the answer.
For Jesus, the timing of answering was important as it should have an overall impact on the kingdom.
Crisis helps us understand that there are certain things beyond our control.
Crisis helps us to know that we are fragile and need the Lord to answer.
Crisis helps us to know that Christ acts according to His timing and divine plan. His delays do not mean that He does not love us. It means that He is waiting for the divine appointment and time.
Ultimately He did it when the timing was right.
Have we included Him in all our activities? Let Him be the part and parcel of our everyday life. Let us turn it over to Him. Let us share the answer with others going through crisis.
Christ is the inevitable answer to our crisis.
