Week 6: All Things new: God's Promise Through John
God's Promise: "I am making everything new!" (Revelation 21:5 NIV)
My Promise: I will fix my eyes on things above.
You were never meant to stay on this form of the earth. The great Architect designed our hearts with eternity in mind. And we can thank John for this glimpse of our true destination. It all comes down to this: God will reclaim his creation. He is a God of restoration, not destruction. He is a God of “re-newal,” “re-demption,” “regeneration,” “re-surrection.” God loves to re-do and re-store. No more struggle with the earth. No more shame before God. No more tension between people. No more death. No more curse. The removal of the curse will return God’s people and universe to their intended state. He will do this because of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13 ESV). Christ endured every consequence of the curse: its shame, its humiliation, even its death. Because he did, the curse will be lifted. All things will become new.
Unshakable Hope Declaration
We are building our lives on the promises of God. Because his Word is unbreakable, our hope is unshakable. We do not stand on the problems of life or the pain in life. We stand on the great and precious promises of God.
