Unshakable Hope - Joyنموونە
Week 1: Joy is Soon Coming: God's Promise Through Mary Magdalene
God's Promise: "Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." (Psalm 30:5 NLT)
My Promise: I will seek God when I am sad.
Weeping comes. It comes to all of us. Heartaches leave us with tear-streaked faces and heavy hearts. Weeping comes. But so does joy. Darkness comes, but so does the morning. Sadness comes, but so does hope. Sorrow may have the night, but it cannot have our life. This was true for Mary Magdalene. Mary’s world officially hit rock bottom. Her master was murdered. His body was buried in a borrowed grave. His tomb was robbed. His body was stolen. Two strangers sat on the slab where his body had been laid. Sorrow intermingled with anger. No, she didn’t comprehend the promise of Jesus. She came looking for a dead Jesus, not a living one. But at least she came. And because she came to him, he came to her. Do what Mary did. Keep coming to Jesus. Even though the trail is dark. Even though the sun seems to sleep. Even though everyone else is silent, you walk to Jesus.
Unshakable Hope Declaration
We are building our lives on the promises of God. Because his Word is unbreakable, our hope is unshakable. We do not stand on the problems of life or the pain in life. We stand on the great and precious promises of God.
