Do All Roads Lead to God?Mostra
Universalism is not a safe place to stand because it unknowingly and yet totally rejects one’s only access to grace. Without grace, nothing is left but an endless stream of temporary self-chosen ideas and futile activities!
By definition, classic universalism claims to be fully inclusive. Therefore, sadly, no cult, philosophy, or code of behavior is excluded. This position requires its adherents to live according to a wide assortment of strange and often opposing teachings. For consistency, its philosophical position must accept everything from atheism, agnosticism, polytheism, ancestor worship, and suicide bombers to reincarnation.
The Bible warns, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
In universalism, sin must either be ignored, unrealistically denied, or thought of in terms of one’s own suffering. While rejecting the world’s solitary means of salvation, it never-the-less promises the entire world’s population a future which resembles the peace of heaven.
Universalists mistakenly visualize their future without any need to be cleansed and forgiven through the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s appointed Savior!
Jesus taught, “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has One who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and what to speak” (John 12:48-49).
