Come Away

Song of Solomon 2:10 "My beloved speaks and says to me: "Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away"

I used to think that the Song of Solomon was for the married couples and honeymooners. I was wrong. Every word on every page of the Song of Songs is an invitation. God is wooing us to Him in this song. He’s inviting us to walk closer with Him. 

In Chapter 2, verse 10, we hear the sweetest invitation of them all. It’s an invitation to God’s heart. “My beloved speaks and says to me: Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.” This is God’s invitation to His people to come away with Him. It’s His invitation for you to come away with Him, to step closer, away from the noise of this world and draw nearer. It’s His invitation for you to greater intimacy with Him. 

How are you responding to His invitation? Are you shaping your day around it, or are you too busy to notice? There’s no greater invitation than this one. Won’t you say yes to Him right now?
