JESUS SAVES US & CHANGES US

As you begin your relationship with Jesus, you need to know that Jesus loves you exactly the way you are. No matter how messed up, broken, insecure, or unworthy you feel — he loves you exactly the way you are. But, Jesus loves you far too much to leave you the way you are.

Jesus doesn’t just save you — he changes you, and makes you more like him. And as Jesus changes us, we experience the abundant life that Jesus describes in John 10:10.

So, to walk with Jesus, you need to be willing to allow him to change you! As you learn more about Jesus, you will be challenged to become more like him, and change the things about you that are not in line with how he wants you to live.

The Bible describes this in Galatians 5 as the Fruit of the Spirit (we’ll read it in a moment). This means that when you allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life, these things will be produced in your life. For example, one of the fruits of the Spirit the Bible describes is patience. If you’re not a patient person, a relationship with Jesus will challenge you to put aside anger and frustration, and become more patient.

Read through the fruits of the Spirit, and think about which of them you want to grow in. Remember, the goal is to become more like Jesus each day!
