Lent: The Journey of Letting Goনমুনা

Week 3: The Cost of Love and Faith
Theme: Living in God’s Kingdom means embracing a love and faith that often defy our expectations, inviting us to sacrifice, trust, and grow in humility.
Focus Scripture: Mark 8:34-35 – “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
Connect: Have you ever compared yourself to someone else, either thinking you’re better or worse? It’s easy to fall into that trap, but God isn’t asking us to compete. He’s asking us to come to Him with honest hearts.
Engage: In Luke 18, Jesus tells a story about two men praying. One man boasts about how “good” he is, while the other simply asks for mercy. Jesus says the humble man is the one who goes home right with God. Why? Because God values humility and honesty over pride and pretending. In His Kingdom, it’s not about proving yourself—it’s about relying on His grace.
Apply: Spend a moment in prayer today. Be honest with God about your struggles and ask for His mercy. Let go of any need to compare yourself to others, and trust that His love is enough for you.

About this Plan

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
