Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 21 OF 40

Week 4: God’s Presence in Suffering and Renewal

Theme: Even in our darkest valleys, God is with us, offering comfort, hope, and the promise of restoration. His love sustains us through every trial.

Focus Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God.”

Connect: Have you ever felt spiritually dry, longing for refreshment but not knowing where to find it? Sometimes seasons of suffering leave us feeling empty, disconnected, and in need of revival. In those moments, we may wonder if life can ever flow back into places that feel desolate.

Engage: Ezekiel’s vision of water flowing from the temple brings life and healing wherever it goes. This living water is a symbol of God’s Spirit, renewing and reviving even the driest places. The river represents the abundance of God’s provision and the transformative power of God’s presence, reminding us that nothing is too broken for God to restore.

Apply: Spend time in prayer today asking the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh life into any areas of dryness or despair. Journal about how God’s Spirit has sustained you in times of need.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
