Daily Bible Reading— February 2025, God’s Strengthening Word: Sharing God's Loveনমুনা
Introduction
1 John 2:1–17: According to today’s reading, knowledge of God comes as we obey God’s commands. When we confess our sins to God, we have the assurance of God’s forgiveness and know that Jesus, the righteous one, pleads on our behalf.
Today’s Key Verse: 1 John 2:17
The world and everything in it that people desire is passing away; but those who do the will of God live forever.
Reflect
What does it mean to you, knowing that Jesus pleads with the Father on your behalf (verse 1)? Read verses 9–11. How is living in the light contrasted with living in the dark? In verses 12–14, Christians of various levels of maturity are being addressed. What are they being told? In what ways do you experience the word of God “living in you” (verse 14)?
Pray
Holy God, thank you for the forgiveness you offer when I confess my sins to you and for Jesus, the righteous one, who pleads on my behalf. Grant me your grace that I may have new life in you. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
1 John 2:18–29: Believers are encouraged to obey the Spirit’s teaching and remain in union with Christ.
