In Anticipation of the Glory That Is to Comeনমুনা
FILLED WITH POWER FROM ABOVE
MAIN IDEAS
• For forty days, through His appearances, Jesus proved to the disciples that He had risen and continued to speak to them about the Kingdom of heaven.
• During the last meeting, the final thought Jesus conveyed to them as being the most important, was that they had to receive the Holy Spirit, in order to have the courage and the power necessary to be His followers and to take the Kingdom to the ends of the earth.
• After His departure for heaven, the two angels came to encourage the disciples, telling them that Jesus would come back the same way He left.
After His resurrection, JESUS stayed on earth for forty more days, during which He wanted to ensure that the disciples had no doubts regarding His resurrection. His disciples were still interested in establishing an earthly kingdom, but JESUS told them to leave these things to GOD and to focus on receiving the Holy Spirit, who would strengthen them and provide them with the courage and enthusiasm necessary to bring the Gospel everywhere, to the ends of the earth. A Christian who receives the Holy Spirit receives a power from above, which will manifest in them, through them, and towards those around them. We cannot be real Christians without this supernatural power. The call to be a follower of Christ is not possible through what man can do by himself, but only through the manifestation of God’s power in us. The advice about receiving the Holy Spirit was the last one He gave them, after which He was lifted from them. The two angels encourage them and tell them that JESUS will return, just the way He left. We are now closer to the moment of JESUS’ return to earth than we were when he went to heaven. If He were to return tonight, would you be prepared to greet Him? If not, take this step right now, and come to Him with honesty, humility, and true repentance and He will receive you. A life lived alongside JESUS is beautiful, safe, and desirable, and when the time to leave this place comes – whether we will die or He will come to take us – we can be certain we will go to the KINGDOM OF GOD, where He went to prepare a place for us – a place where we will live forever in eternal joy.
