God Sees You: Lessons From Leah a 5 - Day Plan by Kerry-Ann Lewisনমুনা
God Will Position You
I was in my early twenties and working when the opportunity came to apply for a teaching position. I was encouraged to apply but hoped I would not get through. I went to the interview but did not make the effort I should have. When I got home, I cried out to God, telling Him that I did not want to teach, but if He wanted me to, I would be obedient and do it. Not long after, I got the call that my interview was successful. You see, God was positioning me for something greater. I was already ministering to others in my present job, but God was positioning me to minister to many more. I could not appreciate that at first, but when I understood the greater call, I was able to embrace it with the right heart.
Let’s face it: Leah was not the “pretty one.” Chances are, she was overlooked many times by possible suitors in favor of her sister. Maybe her father saw that she would never marry first and set things up to change that. It seemed unfair that her life was being manipulated without her having a say. But God was up to something.
Years before, God had made a promise to her ancestor, Abraham, that he would be the father of many nations (Genesis 17:4-6). God was going to fulfill that promise through Jacob and planned that Leah would be a part of it. Rachel was favored and chosen by Jacob, but Leah was favored and chosen by God.
It’s a beautiful thing when God chooses the one who is overlooked, rejected, and unloved. When God has a plan for you, like He had for Leah, not even the rejection of man can stop God’s plan for your life! God will put things in place to ensure that His purpose for you prevails over the plans of men. God still has the final say and will put you where you need to be to fulfill His plan and purpose for your life.
Prayer
Thank You, Father, that You have a beautiful plan for my life. Thank You that You will position me to ensure that I receive all that You have for me even when no one else sees my value. God, I give You the praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.
