Promises

DAY 2 OF 10

The Promise of Security

One of the Father's promises is security. We can rest in the assurance of His saving grace and eternal salvation. Trusting in God's preserving power is the key to fully embracing the belief that our salvation is eternally secure. As stated in Titus 1:2, we have confidence in eternal life, a promise from God—who cannot lie—made before the foundation of the world.

God's promise of eternal security is a source of hope and assurance for every believer. In John 10:28-29, Jesus tells us that once we are in His hands, we are safe and secure forever. The gift of salvation is not just a momentary blessing but a lifelong assurance that we will never perish. This unfailing promise reminds us that no external force can take away the salvation we have in Him. Hold onto this truth, allowing it to encourage your faith and strengthen your heart as you navigate life's challenges, confident in the everlasting love of your Savior.

God faithfully fulfills His promises and completes what He has begun in us. We are promised in Philippians 1:6 that the Father, who started a good work in you, will continue to work in you until it is finished on the day Christ returns. Our salvation is a beautiful gift of God’s grace, made possible through Christ’s redeeming work and secured by the Holy Spirit’s sanctifying presence in every believer. The Father has graciously given us a deposit—the Holy Spirit—assuring us of our future inheritance with Him, as stated in Ephesians 1:14.

Once we understand our identity in Christ Jesus, we can fully trust in the Lord's security. As we believe in Him, we become God's children, embracing the promise that our heavenly Father thoroughly cares for and takes responsibility for our lives when we surrender to Him.

We can trust that God meets all our needs, shields us from evil and calamity, and nurtures our loving relationship with Him and the eternal salvation He promises. Finding our security in the Lord means embracing the strength of His love.

Reflection: Do you find your security in Jesus or yourself and others? The Father has promised to meet all your needs and shield you from the darkness of this world with the glorious light of Jesus Christ. Embrace His promise of security, and let it bring you comfort and peace by reminding yourself of this unwavering promise.
