In Ecclesiastes 3, the Bible tells us that there is a time for every activity under heaven. There is a time to plant and a time to harvest. Sadly, sometimes, when people plant, they get impatient and are not available for the harvest. Galatians 6:9 says, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” No one plans to walk away from a harvest, right? So, what are some of the things that may jeopardize our availability for the harvest? What are some of the things that may put us out of heaven’s timing, or out of sync with God?
Psalm 1:1-3 “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
This scripture shows us three things that can keep us in sync or take us out of sync regarding timing.
The first thing is The Advice You Take. I have seen people abort what God is doing in their lives because of the advice they took. I have seen people on the path to greatness heed the wrong advice and move out of the path of God. They moved away from the streams of water, so to speak, and jeopardized everything. What will happen to a plant that loses its water supply?
The second thing is Where You Stand. Where are you standing? Location is the key to promotion. Where you are planted determines what flows to you. One of the enemy’s tricks is getting people to compromise on their stand for God. After that, it is just a matter of time. Look at the example of Balaam and Balak in the Bible (read Numbers 22-24).
The third thing is Those You Join. Who are you aligning with? The advice you take influences where you stand and determines the people you align with. The advice you take, where you stand, and who you join can either work in your favour or work against you. So, you must watch out for these three things.
