Dually Devoted – a Devotional for Bivocational Pastors and Leaders.

DAY 11 OF 14

As Bivocational ministers, we often encounter unexpected opportunities for ministry. Being out in the field, it seems that ministry finds us, presenting chances to pray, counsel, and share Jesus in the most unlikely situations. This shared experience creates common ground for us.

However, our goal should never be to see people as projects, but as individuals in need of a Savior. We have the privilege of showing them the hands and feet of Jesus in tangible ways. As they experience grace, kindness, and love, they may be inspired to learn more about the One who motivates us to serve.

While we may not always witness the immediate salvation of those we minister to, we can trust that they have encountered a glimpse of who God is through our example. Understanding God’s generosity towards us should guide our own acts of benevolence and sacrifice for others.

Ministry extends beyond the walls of a building; it becomes an attitude of observance, compassion, and a desire to understand. Our attitude should reflect that we don’t have all the answers, but we can point others to the One who does. Humility is crucial in this journey, as it reminds us that we are merely vessels through which God’s love flows.

The beauty of grace is that we are all on a journey of discovery, and we join others in their journey to know God and make Him known. By embracing humility, we acknowledge our own need for grace and create a space where others feel safe to explore their faith with us.
