Her Freedom Journey From Pornography: 6 Days of Ditching Lies and Embracing Truthনমুনা
Day 5: Satan’s Big Lie #4: You Will Never Be Whole
Unfortunately, Satan’s lies don’t end once we’ve fallen into sin. Why? Because his endgame is not to get you to sin, but to cause you to feel distant from God’s love. Let that sink in again. Satan’s ultimate desire isn’t to get you to look at porn, but to make you think you’re too far gone to receive God’s mercy, grace, and love.
You might believe: I’m damaged goods because of my sexual past.
Did you know that in the books of Hosea and Isaiah, Israel is compared to a prostitute? Over and over again the Scriptures refer to God’s people abandoning Him. Yet God, in His love and mercy, never stopped loving His people, no matter their past. God was able to forgive the past of a prostitute nation and see them as new, pure, forgiven, redeemed, and called.
If God gives you a husband who embraces you and loves you through your struggle, that is an amazing gift. A God-fearing man may be a shadow of God’s love for you. But remember, no man is your healer. You don’t need marriage to heal or to become whole.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (1, not at all; 10, a lot!), how much do you believe the lie that you’re damaged goods because of your sexual past? How does this lie impact your life?
How can you find comfort in God’s love for you, His child, to counteract the lie?
You might believe: What I’ve done is beyond God’s forgiveness.
There is something about sexual sin that somehow feels unforgivable. At one level, your head knows that God forgives you, but your heart won’t accept this truth. You think, I don’t deserve forgiveness.
Instead of walking in freedom, you punish yourself. You might even run back to porn because you don’t feel worthy of freedom. Without even realizing it, you may be trying to show God (and yourself) how sorry you are for your sin.
Oh, my friend. How I wish I could look you in the eyes when I tell you this truth: nothing you have done is beyond God’s redemptive power. God’s full forgiveness is not for some other woman. It is for you.
You do God no favors by living in the shadow of your sin. In fact, you allow the enemy to have victory in your life by doing so. Today is the day to receive and accept the fullness of God’s love and forgiveness. Your purity, your righteousness, and your beauty is because of Him.
Read Psalm 103:12 and 1 John 1:9. What do these verses say about sin that you have confessed?

About this Plan
Beneath every sexual struggle is an undercurrent of lies. Lies might begin in your thoughts, but they don’t stay there. In time, they flow into your beliefs, emotions, and actions. Your freedom journey involves learning to discern the lies you believe about sexuality, about yourself, and about freedom and to confront those lies with the power of God’s truth.
