Why Doesn't God Answer My Prayers?নমুনা
It is a matter of perspective
Look at Elijah - 1 Kings 17-19 — mighty man of faith and prayer. What wonders he saw with his own eyes. With what mighty deeds, God answered his prayers! He saw it with his own eyes. God sent him ravens to feed him. He saw a child rose from the dead in answer to his prayers.
Elijah saw how God locked the heavens for three and a half years in answer to his prayers - no rain fell. He prayed, and fire came from heaven on Mount Karmel. And then the rain.
And he thought: "Now at last revival will come - now the breakthrough will come - the people will turn back to God!"
But it didn't happen. And he heard about the queen's vow. Then he ran. Where is his God now? Where is the God that answered him just a few hours ago on Karmel - not to mention all the other times!
We can rephrase this: Why is God not answering my prayers?
Someone lost his business, another stands accused of something he didn't do, and one lost a wife because she found another husband. Some lost a father, another a child. Some lack money for the bare necessities.
Part of the answer would be: God answered your prayers - many of them. Some He didn't. For His own divine reasons.
Look back. Think about the many answered prayers in your life. See the "ravens" that brought you food. Look at the "child that was raised".
Changes are good that you would not want to look back right now. Why? Because we are so aware of this one specific unanswered prayer we are struggling with right now.
Stop: first reflect. So often, we must look back before we can go forward! You have seen many answers. Look back and count them! You will not be able to count all of them. In the past, you trusted Him. He answered. He is still answering. Trust Him to do as he knows best.
Allow the joy to come back into your heart. Open the door wide. Look - you will see Him standing in the doorway. He is at work - on your behalf. You are too precious for Him to let you down.
Watch, you will see them again – answers to your prayers—many of them.
