Introducing Johnনমুনা
The Inner Circle
John, alongside Peter and James, was part of Jesus’ inner circle, witnessing miracles and experiencing firsthand the Lord’s power over death at the raising of Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:37 and Luke 8:51–52). On the Mount of Transfiguration, John saw Jesus revealed in His glory and heard the voice of the Father testifying that Jesus was His Son in whom He was well pleased. Most of the details we know about John come from the first three Gospels which narrate the story of Jesus’ earthly ministry largely from the same perspective. These men were not perfect, yet they were regularly at Jesus’ side. In moments of despair and glory, Jesus took these three close friends with Him. If the Son of God cultivated close friendships, we can too.
No matter the season or reason for earthly friendships, every relationship is an opportunity to glorify God and share Jesus. May all our relationships seek to be firmly rooted in Him, for Him, and to Him who gives all good things. Think about your inner circle – who are the people you journey with in faith? It’s in the company of others that we experience the transformative power of God’s presence.
