NIV Once-A-Day Bible for Womenনমুনা
Genesis 6:5–8
Does what happened at the dawn of history really matter? Jesus thought so. He described how the world would be just prior to his return: “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:37). That’s a sobering thought since in Noah’s day “the Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time” (Genesis 6:5). Oftentimes, modern society seems much the same. Politics, science, business and all forms of media and entertainment display examples of wickedness.
Whatever we may believe about the time of the Lord’s return, Scripture is clear that some bad things could happen before Jesus returns. This is why we would be wise to stay close to him, and when the hard times come, remember he is still on his way.
