NIV Once-A-Day Bible for Womenনমুনা
Matthew 5:33–37
We who follow Jesus are called to be truthful—which means keeping our promises and dealing with others honestly. If we are to be women of integrity, others must be able to trust what we say. Our “yes” must be “yes,” and our “no” must be “no.” But of course, we also sin, including occasionally in our word. Take exaggeration, for example. The problem with exaggeration is that we lose our credibility. It can be very tempting to inflate our accomplishments—or those of our husband or children—to boost our image. It makes us feel better about ourselves! But if God’s people aren’t credible, how does that reflect on God? The most attractive people are those who are real, not those who are able to impress others with embellished details. God honors integrity among his people.
