7 Key Points of the Gospel (Taken From Paul’s Letter to the Romans)নমুনা
Key point 3: God will judge righteously
“Do you suppose, O man … that you will escape the judgment of God?” (Romans 2:3)
Life is not always good and by no means always fair. That raises the question of whether there will be some kind of payback at some point. Will bad people eventually have to pay for their actions and good people be rewarded? Will injustice be avenged and compensated?
Many believe that life ends after death, and that therefore justice can only be done in this life. This is what they fervently dedicate themselves to! They make it their mission to fight injustice on earth.
Others shrug their shoulders at the concept of ‘justice’ and do what they feel like doing, often at the expense of someone else.
Paul asks such people a pertinent question. Do you think you can escape God's judgment? For that judgment will surely come, “based on truth” (Romans 2:2, NIV). God will repay each person according to what they have done (Romans 2:5-6). If you persist in doing good, you will receive eternal life. But if you follow evil, wrath and misery await you.
God's coming judgment is a warning to all of us. Sin will be punished! But it also offers comfort: God will not let the injustice we experience continue indefinitely. A day is coming when He will bring justice.
What does God's coming judgment evoke in you? Joy, fear, or other emotions?
