How to Handle the Crossroads of Lifeনমুনা
Before We Begin
We sometimes don’t fully recover from the consequences of wrong choices or bad decisions. The grace of God may give us new beginnings, but sometimes the scars and pain leave a memory that we later call experience. Samson should have lived much longer. Moses should have made it to the promised land. The prophet Eli should not have died the way he did. And King Saul should have reigned much longer. But at a critical crossroads in their life, each made the wrong choice.
As we all journey through life, we will get to different crossroads; the choice of who to marry, taking the right career path, losing a loved one or having major health issues, to name a few. Sometimes, these crossroads are not functions of our choices or decision, but their effect is significant to how our life often turns out.
For teenagers or young adults reading this plan, take it as a letter for your future. I presume you haven’t made any wrong and highly consequential decisions yet. But if you have, I hope this plan gives you some wisdom, hope, clarity and perspective on navigating the road ahead.
We may never meet, and our paths may never cross. However, I have prayed that the Holy Spirit will guide you and interpret what you are about to read for your personal understanding, and if need be, He will help you to course-correct or make the right adjustments where necessary.
It is unwise to blindly take from the experiences of others and apply them to our life without understanding the context of those experiences. Hence, most of what I will be sharing in the following days are lessons extrapolated from the life of various biblical characters. So, reflect deeply on the content of this devotional and ask the Holy Spirit to be your companion.
I pray that this devotional inspires hope, courage and a renewed sense of resolve when you come to your crossroads. Amen.
