A Kid's Guide To: Knowing Who God Isনমুনা
Know Your Leader
We have not stopped praying for you since the first day we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants you to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding his Spirit gives.
Colossians 1:9 (CEV)
Imagine a student who wanted to please his teacher, so he learned a bunch about him, but he never spent any time with him. He never opened his assignments from his teacher and didn’t know what the teacher wanted him to do.
Crazy right? But sometimes we do that to God. We want to do the right thing, but when it comes time to follow through, we don’t know what he wants us to do because we don’t know him. We haven’t spent any time listening to him or reading his assignments found in the Bible.
God doesn’t hide his will—or what he wants—from his children. He is an open book. In fact, that book is the Bible! When you read it, you get closer to him and start to understand what he wants. You also understand him through prayer and the wise advice from other godly people, like parents, teachers, and pastors.
And when you learn what God wants, you can do it. The Holy Spirit can give you power and wisdom to make the right choices. Obeying God brings him joy and helps you become more like him.
So, start today on your journey to knowing his perfect will. Think about how you can love God and know him more.
