Just Don't Give Up! - Part 1: I Amনমুনা
A Child of God
“So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith” – Galatians 3:26
My world was turned upside down when cancer entered my life. Uncertainty became an overarching theme that I needed to deal with constantly; faith and fear were continually at odds.
I desperately needed something to hold onto to help me navigate this journey. That's when I was reminded of Galatians 3:26. As a child of God, in Christ, I have inherited His promises, blessings, power, and authority (verse 29). My Heavenly Father had never intended to harm me, not even with cancer. If He had allowed cancer to come into my life, I believed He would also provide divine protection and healing for me (Luke 11:11-13).
I remember the first day my daughter stepped into primary school. I worried about not being able to protect and help her when she faced problems at school. That morning, I told my daughter that I wouldn't be able to be with her, but her Father in heaven would.
As a father, I will always love my two daughters. Nothing can change their status. I promise to always be there for them, cherishing every single moment. With no hesitation, I would give my all for their future. What I have is theirs. Still, the love I have is nothing compared to the love of their Heavenly Father.
Cancer was not a punishment for my mistakes, nor was it because God had stopped loving me or forgotten about me. Although I may not understand why this has happened, at least I know that God's fatherly love for me has no end.
My friend, whatever adversity you are facing, I want to assure you: it is not because God does not love you. It is not because God has forgotten about you. Nor is it because God is punishing you for your mistakes.
When your mind battles with fear, remind yourself: I am a child of God. Then, hear your Heavenly Father say, “My beloved child, I am with you.” He who created the heavens and the earth is our perfect Father.
You and I are the children of God. Nothing can ever change our identity. What else could be better than this loving truth?
My identity in Christ changes my entire life
