Seeing Yourself Through the Eyes of Christ a 6-Day Devotional by Dr. Robyn L. Gobinনমুনা
Renew Your Mind
From the day we are born, we begin collecting life experiences. Some life experiences positively impact how we see ourselves, while others distort the truth of who we are as children of God. Lies can develop from our upbringing, painful experiences like trauma, neglect, abuse, or past mistakes. Some lies are told to us by loved ones. Although these words are painful and difficult to release, we must value what God says above any other words spoken to or about us.
We must not allow lies to reside in our hearts and minds. Lies keep us stagnant, cause us to feel insecure, and prevent us from realizing our full God-given potential. Jesus saw our value. Romans 5:8 tells us He loved us so much that Jesus died for us. No matter how long we have believed lies, just as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, we can learn to take our thoughts captive and see our value just as Christ does.
Cultivating the skill of seeing ourselves as Christ does allows us to rest in the knowledge that He loves us when the lies of Satan try to convince us otherwise. Tomorrow, we will learn how to renew our minds: reveal the lies. Today, let’s prepare our spirits for the journey ahead by taking a moment to make a declaration: “I will not be defined by the lies of the enemy, but by the truth of what God says about me.”
Prayer: Lord, I want to see myself the way you see me. I know this is possible with you. Every word you have spoken about me is true. I surrender my mind to you. Please heal me and grant me the strength to fix my mind on your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
What you think about yourself matters. We can’t live fully surrendered to God while maintaining allegiance with lies that distort our vision of who we are. We position ourselves to be fully used for God’s good purposes when we know and believe the truth of who God says we are. This 6-day plan will equip you with practical strategies to break free from the lies and embrace the truth.
