Lean on the Lordনমুনা
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
We live in hectic times. We are busy, busy, busy! Spouses, children, family, job, church (by the way, single people are very busy also!). Plus, so much going on in the world wants to grab our attention. So much is coming our way that sometimes the week looks like a wild river from Monday until Friday, and we look forward to relief when we can crash over the weekend. Does this sound familiar in your life? How do you handle it all?
If you are struggling in this area, a big part of finding refreshment for your mind is to take time deliberately to become still and meditate on what is important daily. Do you have time in your busy schedule to become still in the presence of God? This does not mean doing even more tasks for Him. It means focusing on what the Lord has promised you: ‘Come to Me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest,’ Matthew 11:28. Your relationship with Him should be a priority; we can’t know someone without spending time with them, can we?
In His presence, we will recharge. Jesus invites us to come into His rest and to take a deep breath of His Spirit! Resolve to make time every day to spend even a few minutes in prayer and reading His Word. Then you will have room in your heart to love and do good, to enjoy gathering together with family, brothers, and sisters in Christ, encouraging them with the peace you have received from your time spent with our Savior.
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls,” Matthew 11:29. Yes, you WILL find rest, He does not say ‘maybe’. He loves you and never leaves you, and waits for time to spend with you.
