Lean on the Lordনমুনা
"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another,” Proverbs 27:17.
Iron sharpens iron. It sounds painful as if a thin layer is being scraped off. When someone attempts to ‘sharpen’ us or we receive corrective feedback, it might sometimes hurt us inside. Although it may not always hurt immediately, we find it difficult to reconcile in our hearts.
In the long run, we might need to learn from feedback that was intended to be constructive. Nevertheless, it does not give us a good feeling! We may always do our best, but it might appear that our efforts were not as successful as we had hoped.
When something is sharpened, it eventually becomes more polished as the rough edges fall off. That is how we are sharpened, growing more beautiful, and being transformed into the image of Jesus!
Lord, teach me to accept constructive criticism from others and the uncomfortable feeling that comes with it. Because, Lord, I do want to become more like You!
