Moments for Mums: Power of Prayer for Mums - Part 2নমুনা
I struggle with this verse. Circumstances that haven’t gone the way I want or have prayed for come to mind. I start condemning myself for a lack of faith. Surely if I had believed harder, it would have worked out just as I had wanted. Disappointment creeps in.
This perspective views God as some kind of vending machine that simply needs the right amount of ‘belief currency’ to give us exactly what we have requested. The wider context of this verse and scriptures, in general, show us that it is a false view of God.
I have come to learn that the more I believe in God – who he is and who I am in him – the more my prayers are aligned with his will. The things I ask for change. I am learning to focus less on my requests in many ways and more on asking God to show me who he is and what he is wanting to do.
Question
What is your response to this verse? Talk to God about areas of disappointment and ask him to reveal more of himself to you.
Prayer
Father, I don’t fully understand how prayer works, but I want to keep talking with you. Show me how I can pray today to be in line with your will. Amen.
