Day 12- Presence - He Surrounds Me
- God’s Word
You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. Psalms 139:5-12
- Today’s Thought
Not only does God’s presence guide us and comfort us, but it also surrounds us. When you jump into a swimming pool and go under the water, you can feel the presence of the water pressing in all around every part of you, even though you may not be able to see the water with your physical eyes. In the same way, the presence of God surrounds us. He is with us, and He is close.
The psalmist David reminds us that there is nowhere we can go to escape His presence throughout our life on Earth. Aren’t you thankful that we have the great privilege of knowing that He will never leave us and He will never forsake us, and He provides a hedge of protection around us as He surrounds us with His presence?
As we continue to pray this prayer of blessing over family, friends, and future, let’s pray that we will sense God’s smiling presence around us.
- My Prayer
May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT)
Heavenly Father, today I thank you for your presence that surrounds us. I thank you that there is nowhere I can go to escape from your presence. I pray that I will live in a way that will honor you in everything I do and say every day for your glory. I pray that your presence would surround and protect those I love today. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!
About this Plan
For 20 years, Michelle's father, Dr. Rod Masteller, used "5 P's" taken from the prayer of Aaron to serve as a daily guide to pray God's blessings over his life, family, and friends. In his honor, we have written this devotional as a framework to help you focus on praying for God's provision, protection, presence, power, and peace.
