The people surrounding us and the situations we find ourselves in can either move us closer to God or pull us away. Maybe you are in a position right now where you feel like those around you are hurting your faith journey more than they're helping. Having healthy spiritual habits can help you navigate situations or relationships that seem to be pulling you away from God.
The Israelites (God's chosen people) found themselves in this situation. The Babylonians had conquered them, and many of them were taken by force to their capital city. They were taken so that their culture, heritage, and faith could be destroyed. Those conquerors wanted God's chosen people to adopt Babylonian ways. Today we are looking at a letter written to encourage the Israelites to keep their faith by wholeheartedly looking for God, reminding them that God still had a plan for them.
What would it look like for you to be "wholehearted" in your habits and time with God? Do you see spending time with God as an obligation or an opportunity?
