Have you ever struggled to listen to an authority figure? Maybe a parent, teacher, or coach? At times, you may get an eye roll for not listening. Other times, the consequences may be more serious. Whenever we don't obey someone, we are communicating that we don't honor them. Have you ever thought that obedience could actually be a habit that you could form in your life? When we get into the habit of obedience in our spiritual lives, it can impact the rest of our life - including our relationships with those around us.
A king from the Bible named David wrote some wise words in Psalms after he disobeyed God. He was living his life differently than he truly desired. David asked God to help him discover the importance of being obedient, to make it a habit. These words remind us how we should respond when we struggle to follow God in our lives.
What does obedience look like in your life? How might obeying God in all areas of your life create a "clean heart" in you?
