We tend to be drawn to people who look like us, act like us, and value the same things. This isn't always necessarily a bad thing. For example, a soccer team needs players interested in soccer. Likewise, a symphony needs people who like playing instruments. God is different, though. God isn't looking for one type of person whose interests all match up. Instead, God loves all people and has invited all people into relationship.
What if I told you the community you find yourself in today will likely look completely different from the community you'll find around you in heaven? Revelation, the last book of the Bible (which gives us insight into the future), tells us a little bit about what heaven will be like. It talks about people from every nation and every language — people who look different, sound different, and all share different histories and backgrounds. But there is one value they all share: their love for God.
How might you widen your community around you to better reflect that of heaven? How could you look for opportunities to worship with someone who looks different than you?

About this Plan
If someone asked who you are, what would you say? Are you a musician? A basketball player? A friend? A daughter or son? Those things might be true, but have you ever felt like you’re still figuring out who you are, what you’re good at, or why you’re here? In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore who Jesus is and discover who we’re meant to be.
