"Walking Wisely"
Matthias & Justus were two men in scripture who walked with the wise, Jesus Christ. These two men accompanied Jesus and the twelve disciples from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry until the day when Jesus was taken from them.
They witnessed; breakthroughs, turning points, miracles, teachings, healings and essential moments all because they were consistent in their association and commitment to Christ. Because of their dedication of consciously walking with Jesus Christ they were both eligible candidates for a promotion from associate to apostle. Only one of the two would become a witness in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and become the recognized twelfth disciple that replaced Judas Iscariot.
Wisdom comes from walking in God’s will, word and way. God’s word says that if anyone seeks wisdom one is instructed to ask God for wisdom because God gives it generously (James 1:5). When we elect to walk in association with Jesus we have the promise of “not walking in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) There are benefits in walking with Jesus, because when we walk with Him we never know when and how He will cause us to walk into the promotion God has ordained for us.
Matthais was chosen by God and was added to the eleven apostles. God knows our hearts and motives regarding who we are in association with. Seek wisdom in walking in God-honoring associations and aim toward God-honoring goals as God rewards you for your obedience to Him.
