90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for Womenনমুনা
Yesterday, you were briefly introduced to the step of responsibility and the need to own your part of the story. Today, I want to briefly introduce you the other side of responsibility—the need to release yourself from blame for things that aren’t yours to own. I say briefly for both because we will be spending the next two weeks dissecting both sides of responsibility and it’s important for us to lay a general foundation from the beginning.
Releasing yourself from responsibility for things that aren’t yours to own can be multifaceted. You can release yourself from the blame of abuse or harm in your past or you can forgive yourself for having this addiction. Perhaps there’s a sense that you don’t deserve to be free or perhaps there’s insecurity about who you will be without this struggle. These are things that you can let go.
Think about your addiction. Is there a sense of ownership about your struggle that isn’t yours to own? Ask God to reveal any part of this struggle that is needlessly burdening you and attributing to your bondage. We will work toward releasing it together in the weeks to come.
