Obedience Brings About Fruitfulness
If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Leviticus 26:3-4 (ESV)
In Leviticus 26, we see the heart of God. He had redeemed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, and now, He was giving them instructions on obedience. Some may find it hard to understand – why must we obey God all the time? Because God wants to give us life, fruitfulness and true joy in Him. Sin leads to death, and it breaks the Father’s heart to see us sin. God assured them that there will be harvest and abundance; they will have enough to eat, there will be peace, and they shall lie down and not be afraid. However, if they are disobedient and worship idols, there will be panic and disease; they shall sow in vain, and they shall collapse before their enemies. What a contrast!
Prayer:
Dear God, we used to be lost in sin, wandering around in the desert. But You rescued us and taught us the way of life. Obeying You helps us to partner with You in bringing about blessings in our lives. This blessing will encompass every aspect including finances, family, mental and emotional wellbeing, inner healing, and relationships with people and our work. We rejoice because of You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
The last chapter of Exodus ends with an interesting detail – Moses can’t enter the tent of meeting because it is filled with God’s glory. God’s presence is so holy that even Moses can’t come near! Therefore, God must sanctify Moses and His people for holiness, and this is what Leviticus is about. Leviticus means “And He Called”. God calls us to repentance and a lifelong journey of holiness.
