Through the Bible: Exodus

DAY 8 OF 12

Do Not See Ourselves Less Than How God Sees Us

Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.
Exodus 25:8-9 (NIV)

When God instructed Moses to build the tabernacle, He gave Moses the exact details of how it was to be built and furnished. Although the tabernacle was made by the hands of men, it became holy and perfect when God set it aside as His dwelling place among His people. Yet it was only a foreshadow of what we have in Jesus.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord, all old things pass away and we become a new creation. We are called God’s workmanship, created in Jesus. God does not want us to keep looking back at our old self which was crucified when Jesus died on the cross. We are a temple of God that is fearfully and wonderfully made and God’s Spirit dwells in us. We honour the finished work of Jesus by not seeing ourselves less than how God sees us in Christ.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for the finished work of Jesus that gives us the identity as Your beloved and You see us fit to be the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. We love You Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Exodus

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
