Through the Bible: Exodus

DAY 1 OF 12

 The God Who Delivers

…the Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.
Exodus 2:23-24 (NIV)

God was silent in the 400 years since the death of Joseph at the end of Genesis. The book of Exodus opens with Israelites, the people of God, in slavery in the land of Egypt. The Israelites were treated ruthlessly and all their baby boys were sent to be killed so that they could not multiply. They groaned and cried out to God for help.

God heard their cries and remembered His covenant with His people. He raised up a Prophet, Moses, who would deliver them from slavery and lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey.

God keeps His covenant and He delivers us.

Prayer:

God, as we battle against temptations, addictions, entrapments or any form of bondages, please deliver us. We thank You that You have given us a new covenant and You have sent someone who is greater than Moses – our Lord Jesus Christ – who is our hope and our light and who will lead us to righteousness and salvation.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Exodus

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
