Hello Baby, I Love You! Abc's for Young Momsনমুনা
F
is for Faith in God and Not, Self
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen.
In a culture that is constantly telling us, 'You can do it', 'trust your instincts', and 'you are an empowered woman', we must be very careful where we place our faith. When reading articles or books about child-rearing, engaging in conversation with other moms, or even what we observe in the media, the common thread seems to be that 'we can do anything' or if we follow a set of guidelines and our child will 'magically' sleep through the night or behave 'just so'.
In Proverbs, the Bible teaches us that we are not to lean on our own understanding. Life can be overwhelming at times when you are looking at this newborn life for which you are responsible. Have faith, you are not alone! This journey of parenting is one that God wants to share with you. We are not meant to walk this path alone. Don't lean on your own understanding, but put your faith in the one who created your sweet little one, the one who created you! You are not meant to 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' and figure this out on your own. Your heavenly Father is with you each step of the way. Put your faith in Him and He will make straight your path as you journey down this road of parenting.
