Fierce Faith: Fighting Fear & Overcoming Anxietyনমুনা
Brave and Unafraid
Over the past seven days, we’ve uncovered the plans of the enemy to keep us frozen in fear, wrestled with our worries, and overcome in our anxieties. We’ve learned to live life with fierce faith that fights for our freedom in Christ!
Remaining a slave to fear is remaining tormented by the enemy. It’s not how we were created to live. Jesus didn’t die on the cross to save our souls from hell so we would live here on earth riddled with anxiety, worries, and fears.
There comes a time when we have to decide to believe all the things he tells us about himself, to believe what he tells us about ourselves, to stand up strong and tall and pronounce, I am a child of God. Because of these truths, because of this freedom, we will fight, and we will win the battle in the war he has already won.
Fear, anxiety, and worry will no longer hold us down.
We have Jesus; we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us; we can replace lies with truth; and we have a battle plan to fight back. We are no longer slaves to fear; we’re fearless children of God.
In this world, we will have trouble, yet we know who overcomes the world. We know we can trust him to take care of us. Yes, the storms will come, but we don't have to be beaten on the rocks of the shore. We can weather the storm even when the waves roll in; we know he is always with us; his promise and his presence are there.
We don’t have to live in fear. God is in control; he has only goodness and hope for our future, and we can trust him as a good Father.
When fear rises up in you, I want you to get on your face, talk to Jesus, pour out everything in your heart, and ask the Holy Spirit (who is given to us by Jesus as our helper and comforter) to empower you to do everything that you’re called to do in this season.
Worship God when the storm clouds appear on the horizon, and when the cold wind whips across your face, fight back.
As we close this devotional series, I want to speak this verse over you now: Proverbs 31:25, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Stay strong; stay close to Jesus. Stand tall, great woman of God; you are clothed with strength and dignity and you can laugh bravely at the days to come. That’s the secret; that’s how we live brave and unafraid.
Prayer:
Lord, I no longer want to live trapped in my fear. I want to fight with my faith. I ask you to empower me to do everything that you have planned for me in this season. Don’t let me shrink back or give up. I’m following you forward! Amen.
