Be United
Here we look at the story of Ruth and Naomi. If you have time today, read through the whole of chapter 1 and through verse 12 in chapter 2. You will see that Ruth had a RESOLVE to follow Naomi as a loyal sister in unity during the good times and the bad. She followed her to another nation when she was married and life was good, and then she followed her to her mother-in-law’s hometown after her husband had died.
Unity doesn’t happen in the spur of the moment when life is good! These are the times when you can easily make a commitment of unity to a sister, a friend, a relative, or a spouse. Unity is a resolve that goes deeper than feelings. Unity is a choice and when the going gets tough, you protect that unity.
Friends and sisters will let you down; they will misunderstand you and will make decisions that upset you. BUT, if you are united, you choose to walk with them anyway. You are united in the fight, united in the journey, and united in the supernatural, powerful love that you share because of Jesus.
Ask Yourself
● Are there any sisters you need to decide to commit to in order to be united with?
● Are there sisters that you need to fight for in prayer because there is distance between you?
● Are there sisters that you need to forgive?
Loyal Sisterhood asks us to lay down our own preferences and consider others before ourselves.
