The Nature Of The Propheticনমুনা
Peace-loving
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)
We probably all desire more peace in our lives. But peace is not just a feeling we experience on occasions when everything seems perfect; it is a daily positioning of our spirit and soul. To have the Lord’s perfect peace requires a renewing of our minds and a reliance on His nature. In fact, the kind of spiritual peace that comes from being relationship focused and Spirit led allows us to test or ‘check’ anything we believe is prophetic. We can know God’s will intimately when we follow His ways.
Peace is not just a personal outcome of living by the Spirit, it is a corporate calling. As the body of Christ, we are called to be peace-lovers. To carry the nature of the prophetic means we should seek to avoid conflict and division. Just like the Godhead who live in perfect peace and unity with each other, this is our calling. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is unity!
When we have the peace of God in our minds and hearts, it begins to demonstrate in our ministry. Internal peace results in external power. Peace overflows in the expression of our spiritual gifts as well as our day to day lives.
Whatever we are filled with becomes a manifestation of our lives. If we are full of the joy and peace of the Holy Spirit, then we will overflow with His hope. Then again, if we are filled with doubt or conflict, we will pour out confusion and tension. Operating effectively in the prophetic comes as we are filled with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, and with His peace.

About this Plan
What does it mean to be prophetic? How do we recognise the voice of the Holy Spirit and communicate Him effectively to others? Take time aside to grow in wisdom, develop your spiritual gifts, and learn about the essential qualities you need to live a prophetic life. This 10-day devotional plan is based on James 3:17 from the book, The Nature of the Prophetic, by Sally McCracken.
