Shiny Influence

DAY 2 OF 6

You Are an Influencer

So, what do you think of when you hear the word “influencer”? Someone with a YouTube channel about how to make the best slime or how to do amazing at-home science experiments? Or maybe someone with a huge following on social media?

Sure! Those people are a type of influencer. But there are so many other types of people with influence in our everyday lives.

What about you? Are you an influencer? Maybe you should watch this video with the lead pastor of Life.Church, Pastor Craig Groeschel, before answering.

Jesus said He is the light. He asks us to be His light so that the world will know where true light comes from and can give worship and praise to God for it! Today, you’ll read Matthew 5:14-16 again, plus some new Scriptures about God’s light and the way He wants you to be a light and influencer for others—no matter your age.

Maybe the words from Matthew are starting to get into your brain. Maybe you’re even beginning to memorize them. That’s great! We’ll come back to them on Day 6 of this Bible Plan to help you keep that portion of God’s Word in your heart and mind forever.

Ask yourself: How can you be a light to others?

Challenge yourself: Grab a paper and something to write with again today. In big letters, write the word “LIGHT” in the center of your paper. All around the word, write examples of the light you can be to those around you. For example: helpful, kind, encourager, speaker of truth, and so on.

Pray: God, thank You for caring so much about this world—and all of us in it—that You didn’t leave us in darkness. We sinned. We chose paths different from the paths You said were good. We’ve all done it. But You still chose to bring us light so we don’t have to live in darkness without You. Thank You for loving us. Help me to be a source of Your light and love to everyone in my life.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
